I really hate lateral raises. REALLY hate them. I find that they just place so much stress on my arms, stress which is not productive or meaningful in anyway. Yet if I flex my elbows too much, then too much stress is taken of of the lateral head of the deltoids. As far as isolation exercises go, I do wish my gym had a Nautilus lateral raise or a machine like it so I can stop using dumbbells. I would also prefer a high quality biceps machine which supinates the forearm completely. But a barbell is alright for now. I feel that isolation with these smaller muscles are better done on machines where smaller weight increases are possible. Those two exercises are my weakest simply because I'm stuck in a no mans land of not being able to do enough reps on a higher weight and doing too much on a lower one. Unconventional Mike Mentzer wisdom would say rest more but I feel I can't stay away from the gym for more than 3 days.
Finally got to shopping for new shit today. Didn't buy anything too expensive.
Here comes the most hellish period for any student. Projects, papers, and finals galore.....................
